Found Penny – Step 12: Turning $10 into $20 (Healthy Lunch Snack Packs)

Found Penny Step 12: Turning $10 into $20 (Healthy Lunch Snack Packs)

This is what a fearless Canadian protagonist should look like

If you want to learn how to make a dollar out of 15 cents, turn to Tupac. But it you’re interested in Step 12 of making a million from nothing, you’re in the right place! Read on…

As you may recall, your Dudley Doright-like protagonist (me) had just spent two and a half weeks on the road making trades up to $10 from nothin’. His partner in crime, Cherrie St Germain, had made it to $20. And we are both in Chicago for the weekend.  If you want a refresher, check out my guide to completing the first 11 steps of the Found Penny game.

Found Penny – Steps 1 to 11

The first 11 steps for me went pretty quick. That is, going from zero to $10. It took me about a month from the day I started (but for two weeks of that I was on a road trip from San Diego to Chicago, so I was pretty isolated).

two cents Found Penny Steps 1 to 11

Holy crap! There used to be a two cent coin!

The first day I started the game I was at a Peak Potentials seminar. My friend, Jean-Guy Francoeur was there along with his father. His father gave us each a penny to get started and so we did. Here’s how it went.

Found Penny – 28 trades to a million dollars

Alright, who’s ready to get a little crazy with me? We’re going to make $1,000,000 without spending a cent!

I’m not kidding. I’m not going to use even one penny of my own.  You’ve probably heard that if you double a penny 28 times, you will end up with over a $1,000,000. One million three-hundred-forty-two thousand one-hundred-seventy-seven dollars and twenty-eight cents to be exact. And that’s what I’m attempting to do…

This is what one million pennies looks like. Remember that this is only $10,000 though. Ppfff!

Jack Nicholson speaks on advertising

I just came across this video. Whether you’re into marketing or not, you’ll laugh out loud.

What Nicholson says about logos is spot on. Most people are totally in love with their logos. But what they forget is that they are the only one! I always go back to the Triple W Rule:

  1. So what?
  2. Who cares?
  3. What’s in it for me?
    1. Whether your audience knows it or not, that’s what’s running through their head every moment of every day. They couldn’t care less about your logo, your slogan, or anything else… UNLESS it satisfies one or more of the rules above.

The Master Cleanse (My experience day fifteen)

Oh my goodness, food has never tasted sooo good. Today was the first time I actually had to chew something in 15 days to get it down. And it was glorious!

Day fifteen

I wake up and I’m almost a little bit nervous. I finally get to have some warm, and kind of real food.  What to expect? Will my belly handle it? Will I feel sick? Will I spew? So I come out of my room and Amzi already has some veggie broth soup simmering on the stove. I have to say right here that Amzi is a total sweetheart. She really didn’t have to do that, and I’m so grateful that she did! But I’m not ready to eat yet. I almost have this feeling of it needs to be just right.

The Master Cleanse (My experience day fourteen)

Talk about feeling like a kid at Christmas! There is no better way to describe my emotions when my eyes opened up today. The cleanse is over, I made it through. Now I’m into my re-integration phase, or as they call it in the health care industry, re-feeding.

The Master Cleanse (My experience day thirteen)

Woot woot!!! I made it, I’m here.  I am cleansed! After ten long days of what I’m calling, the hunger quencher’s trifector diet (cayenne lemonades, salt water flushes, and laxative teas) I am finally done!  It wasn’t easy, but I made it.

Day Thirteen

Rise and shine and drink the brine! And like a good little cleanse, I do. Feeling fairly rested I think to myself how happy I am to not be doing this tomorrow morning. My last salt water flush! The salt water must have heard me thinking that because it comes out of me like a title wave! But no solids, or even thick liquids, come with it. I smile.

Marketing Minute w Jeff McLeod – The Importance of Social Proof

If you haven’t heard the term ‘Social Proof’ before, don’t worry. Most of us haven’t. That said, if you are in marketing, and you haven’t heard the term ‘Social Proof’ then go bang your head against a wall for a while. Social proof is a simple yet powerful concept. How powerful you ask? Well many great marketers will cite Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert Cialdini as the most important marketing book ever written. And Cialdini devotes over 50 pages just to social proof.

The Master Cleanse (My experience day twelve)

I can hardly believe it. I am basically 24 hrs away from being done this cleanse. I never in my life thought I’d be able to say that! But here I stand, albeit, much lighter, but here I stand on the edge of completion!

The Master Cleanse (My experience day eleven)

Again, I’d like to thank all the people who have been sending me sweet messages, commenting, and calling me with words of encouragement. Your support means a lot to me and is really helping me get to the end of this cleanse successfully! Thank you.

Day Eleven

Waky, waky eggs and baky. That’s what I used to say to myself when my eyes first opened. But not anymore. It’s more like, rise and shine and drink the brine!

sleepgraph LD day 8 The Master Cleanse (My experience day eleven)

You can see I had a lot of deep sleep. That stuff is tough to get out of!
